WELCOME

I offer face-to-face psychotherapy for adults and young people in Cheltenham. I also work online although this is usually when we have begun our work in person.

People often come to therapy when they feel stuck in a situation or pattern they can’t see a way out of — even when, on the surface, life appears to be running normally. Others come because something difficult has happened and needs to be worked through.

It’s also common not to know exactly what’s wrong. Many people find ways to manage or avoid what feels too difficult to face. Psychodynamic therapy offers a place to take experience seriously — not to explain it away or rush to solutions, but to stay with it long enough for something new to become thinkable.

Here are some (but by no means all) of the issues that might bring you to therapy:

• Difficult or painful relationships with family, partners, colleagues or friends
• Anxiety, low mood, loss of motivation or a sense of emptiness
• The impact of trauma, including difficult or abusive early experiences
• Persistent self-criticism or low self-esteem
• Life transitions such as leaving school, starting university or work, becoming a parent, menopause or relocation
• Questions of identity, including sexuality, gender, culture, race or belonging
• Living with neurodivergence, including ADHD or autistic traits
• Periods of crisis, disorientation, or a sense that something needs to change, even if it’s hard to name.
